Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Marketplace Specialist / E-commerce skilled supporting Bur Oak Secondary School’s online presence and digital initiatives. The role involves managing school-related online marketplaces and e-commerce platforms, maintaining product listings, pricing, and inventory information, and ensuring accurate, up-to-date content. The specialist will monitor online sales performance, analyze trends, and prepare simple reports to guide improvements.

Daily responsibilities include responding to online inquiries, coordinating with school staff on promotions or campaigns, and helping ensure a positive and efficient experience for students, families, and community members using the school’s online channels.

Qualifications

Strong Analytical Skills for tracking performance metrics, identifying trends, and making data-informed recommendations.

Demonstrated Customer Service abilities to handle inquiries, resolve issues,



and support a positive online experience.

Effective Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with staff, students, and community members.

Knowledge of E-Commerce platforms and basic marketplace management (listing products, updating information, monitoring orders).

Fundamental Sales understanding to support promotions, upsell opportunities, and user engagement strategies.

Comfort with digital tools, spreadsheets, and web-based dashboards; familiarity with school or non-profit environments is an asset.

Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.

Relevant education or training in business, marketing, e-commerce, or a related field is beneficial; student or early-career candidates are welcome to apply.
