MyGP Hub is seeking reliable, organised and patient-focused people to join our medical administration and reception team.
We operate two busy medical practices in Tamworth: The Hub in West Tamworth and MyGP Hub at Tamworth Square. Our administration team supports general practitioners, nurses, allied-health professionals and visiting specialists across both locations.

Our core practice systems are:
- Best Practice Premier for appointments, patient records, billing and clinical administration
- HotDoc for online bookings, patient communications and appointment management
- Tyro for EFTPOS payments and Medicare claiming
Previous experience with these systems is highly regarded; however, training may be provided to applicants with solid administration, reception or customer-service experience.
Hours and availability
MyGP Hub operates between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, Monday to Sunday.
Casual shifts may be rostered at either location across this operating span. Applicants should have availability for a reasonable mix of:
- Weekday shifts
- Evening shifts
- Saturday and Sunday shifts
Applicants are not expected to be available for every operating hour. However, evening and weekend availability will be an important consideration when appointments are made.
Employment conditions
All successful applicants will
- Commence employment on a casual basis
- Complete an initial probationary and performance review period
- Be paid according to their applicable classification under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020 (Health Services Award) [MA000027]
- Receive applicable casual loading, penalty rates and allowances
- Be rostered according to operational requirements and their confirmed availability
- Be required to work across both MyGP Hub locations
Key responsibilities The role includes:
- Welcoming patients and managing check-in and departure
- Answering incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally
- Managing appointments, cancellations and online bookings
- Maintaining accurate patient and appointment information in Best Practice Premier
- Managing online bookings and patient communications through HotDoc
- Processing EFTPOS payments and Medicare claims using Tyro
- Processing Medicare, private, WorkCover and other patient accounts
- Managing documents, correspondence, referrals and patient requests
- Supporting doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers
- Following privacy, billing and practice procedures
- Escalating clinical, billing or patient concerns appropriately
- Completing allocated administration tasks and communicating clear handovers
- Assisting at either practice location as operationally required

Previous medical reception or healthcare administration experience is highly regarded. Experience with Best Practice Premier, HotDoc, Tyro, Medicare billing or medical terminology would be an advantage. Applicants with strong reception, administration or customer-service experience who are motivated to begin or develop a career in healthcare are also encouraged to apply.
