Full-Time Receptionist – Figtree Podiatry, Figtree
Position Title: Medical Receptionist
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Figtree, NSW
You enjoy creating a welcoming environment for people and you care about the experience someone has when they walk through a door. You’re naturally warm, organised and take pride in keeping things running smoothly. You like knowing that your work makes a genuine difference to how people feel.
At Figtree Podiatry, we’re looking for a receptionist who will help shape our patients’ experience from the time they walk in the door, to the time they leave after their appointment.
We are a part of a clinical group that includes multiple podiatry practices throughout the South Coast. We’re known for something that really matters to us: creating an inclusive environment where everyone - patients and team members alike - feels that they belong. We strive to provide high-quality podiatry care, but we care just as much about how people experience that care.
This role will suit someone who wants to do people-focused work in a supportive team environment, where warmth and attention to detail are genuinely valued.
This role will suit you if:
You enjoy interacting with people and feel motivated by creating a positive, welcoming experience for patients.
You’re someone who
- is warm, friendly and professional in your communication
- values organisation, tidiness and attention to detail
- can stay calm while managing multiple tasks
- works well both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- brings a proactive, can-do attitude to your work
- has solid computer skills and is comfortable learning new systems
- holds Australian work rights
You don’t need previous medical reception experience - we’re open to people from other industries who have strong communication skills and a genuine desire to contribute to a positive team culture.
About the role
This is a full-time receptionist role (38 hours per week) at our Figtree clinic (and when required may involve occasional work at our Dapto and Shellharbour locations).
You’ll be the first person patients meet and you’ll play a central role in making sure they feel welcomed and supported. Day-to-day, you’ll be managing appointments and enquiries, supporting our podiatrists with orthotics coordination and billing, maintaining accurate patient records in our practice management system, liaising with external providers including NDIS and Home Care coordinators and taking responsibility for keeping the clinic tidy, professional and welcoming throughout the day.
Key responsibilities
- Greeting patients and being a warm, professional first point of contact
- Managing phone, email and in-person enquiries
- Booking and managing appointments, including following up failed-to-attend appointments
- Coordinating orthotics from ordering through to patient pick-up
- Processing payments, managing billing and following up outstanding accounts
- Liaising with Home Care Providers and NDIS coordinators
- Maintaining patient records and documentation in Nookal
- Taking responsibility for the cleanliness and presentation of the clinic throughout the day
- Supporting the practice team to maintain smooth daily operations
Our values
Our team came together to develop five principles that guide how we work and live:
1. Build a warm, supportive and safe environment for patients and fellow team members
2. Be Humble – ask for feedback and seek opportunities to learn
3. Improve the lives of our patients and our team by supporting their health and well-being
4. Be Brave – actively pursue innovation and change
5. Cleanliness is our starting point. A clean and tidy clinic is a priority.
What we offer
- A fresh, modern clinic fitout
- A genuinely inclusive, supportive team culture
- Full-time position: 38 hours per week
- Flexible days and times - to be negotiated with you
- Quarterly progress catch-ups
- The opportunity to grow with an expanding practice
