About the Role
Working within a well-equipped workshop, you'll be responsible for carrying out a variety of fabrication, repair and modification work across a modern fleet of heavy civil equipment. This is a diverse role where no two days are the same, with projects extending well beyond standard wear repairs.
Your responsibilities will include
- Fabrication, repair and structural modification of heavy mobile equipment.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, fabrication plans and technical specifications.
- Manufacturing components and assemblies to precise tolerances.
- Carrying out complex welding and fabrication work on a variety of heavy equipment.
- Completing preventative maintenance repairs and structural upgrades.
- Working closely with the maintenance team to minimise equipment downtime.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and quality control.
- Contributing ideas to improve equipment reliability and workshop efficiency.
About You To be successful in this role you will have:
- Trade qualification as an MEM Boilermaker/Fabricator.
- Previous experience working on heavy mobile or heavy civil equipment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans.
- Excellent fabrication and welding skills across a range of materials.
- Experience manufacturing components rather than simply repairing wear items.
- High attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- A commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
