About the role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing motor vehicles, including inspecting brake systems, engines, transmissions, and other mechanical components, performing scheduled maintenance, and using diagnostic equipment to identify faults.

Qualifications & experience

 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent trade qualification)

 Relevant trade experience as a qualified motor mechanic

 Sound knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and repair techniques

 Current driver's licence

 Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety

Duties & responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

· Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical faults in motor vehicles, including engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and braking systems

· Perform scheduled and routine vehicle servicing in accordance with manufacturer specifications

· Use diagnostic tools and computerised equipment to identify vehicle faults and determine appropriate repair solutions

· Remove, inspect, repair, or replace worn or defective vehicle parts and components





· Road-test vehicles to assess performance before and after repairs

· Carry out pre-purchase and roadworthy inspections as required

· Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed, parts used, and time taken for each job

· Provide clients or service advisors with clear explanations of required repairs, associated costs, and estimated completion times

· Order and source replacement parts as needed, liaising with suppliers where required

· Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with workplace health and safety standards and relevant Australian vehicle safety regulations

· Maintain and care for workshop tools and equipment, ensuring proper functioning and calibration

· Keep the work area clean, organised, and compliant with environmental and safety requirements (e.g. correct disposal of oils, fluids, and hazardous materials)

· Liaise with team members, service managers, and other tradespeople to ensure productive workflow and quality control

· Stay up to date with new vehicle technologies, manufacturer updates, and industry best practices through ongoing training To apply please click on the link
