About the role

Budget Auto Service and Tyre are seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis at our Epping, Victoria location. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the high standards of vehicle servicing and repair that our customers depend on. As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing vehicle issues, performing repairs and maintenance, and ensuring all work meets industry safety standards and our company's quality expectations.

This is a hands-on position that requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

- Diagnosing mechanical faults and vehicle issues using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
- Performing routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and inspections
- Repairing and replacing vehicle components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
- Conducting thorough vehicle inspections and providing customers with transparent reports on required work
- Safely operating mechanical tools and equipment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Maintaining accurate service records and documentation for all work completed
- Adhering to manufacturer specifications and repair procedures for all vehicle types
- Communicating effectively with customers to explain repairs, costs, and timelines
- Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment
- Staying current with industry best practices and new vehicle technology

What we're looking for

- Current automotive trade qualification or equivalent recognised certification (such as Certificate III or IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology)
- Proven experience working as a Motor Mechanic in a professional service environment
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, engines, and mechanical repair procedures




- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and computer-based diagnostic systems
- Ability to work independently whilst also collaborating effectively with team members
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Valid Australian driver's licence
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Physical capability to perform the demands of the role, including standing, bending, and lifting
- Experience in a tyre fitting and balancing environment is desirable
