About the Role
Peabody is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of inventory across our Australian operations. Reporting to the Director Supply Chain Australia, this key leadership position is responsible for driving inventory governance, warehousing performance, logistics support, and inventory optimisation nationally. Working closely with Maintenance, Operations and Supply Chain teams, you will ensure critical materials are available when needed, while improving efficiency, reducing costs, and supporting operational reliability across our sites.
What You Will Do
- Lead a team of inventory specialists to develop and manage Peabody's national inventory strategy, budget, policies and performance standards
- Optimise inventory levels across Australian operations, balancing availability of critical spares with working capital objectives
- Lead forecasting, replenishment planning and inventory improvement initiatives across multiple sites
- Provide functional support to site-based warehouse teams
- Drive warehouse, warranty and inventory KPI performance through data-driven decision making
- Partner with Maintenance, Procurement and Operations teams to align inventory strategies with equipment reliability requirements
- Support logistics and supply chain activities to ensure continuity of supply to operational sites
- Act as the subject matter expert for inventory, warehousing and logistics processes in SAP
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while supporting business continuity planning

This position is offered on a Monday to Friday basis, working from our Fortitude Valley corporate office with flexible start and finish times and a redistributed working week, giving employees the option to finish at noon on Fridays. The role also includes regular travel to Peabody mine sites across Australia, providing the opportunity to build strong operational relationships and directly influence site performance.
About You
You are an influential and commercially minded inventory professional with a proven track record of driving inventory performance across complex, multi-site operations. You enjoy working collaboratively with a broad stakeholder group and have the ability to translate data and analysis into practical business outcomes.
- A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
- Extensive experience in inventory management within mining, heavy industry, manufacturing, or a similarly asset-intensive workplace
- Demonstrated success managing inventory performance across multiple locations
- Robust knowledge of warehousing, logistics and supply chain best practices
- Experience with SAP or comparable ERP systems
