Teaching in Pembroke's Technology faculty, as a Design and Technology Teacher you will engage and inspire Middle School students through hands-on Design and Technology learning. You will bring Design and Technology to life by planning and delivering engaging, hands-on learning experiences that develop students’ creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills.

About the Role

In this role, you will inspire and guide Middle School students in Design and Technology, working with a variety of materials including timber, metal, and acrylic. Whether you are an experienced teacher or early in your career, you will be supported with mentorship and professional learning opportunities to help you thrive.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cover Design & Technology concepts, techniques, and methodologies.
- Utilise modern Design and Technology facilities to enhance student learning.
- Demonstrate expertise with a range of materials, including timber and metal, alongside proficiency in specialised tools and processes such as joinery, welding, and finishing techniques.
- Integrate CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining, plasma cutting, and other advanced technologies into teaching programs.
- Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and assessment to support students’ technical and creative development.
- Maintain a safe and compliant learning environment, managing all risk and safety protocols in the Technology Workshop.

About You

You are a passionate and skilled Design & Technology educator who inspires creativity and practical skills through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.



You’ll bring your expertise and enthusiasm into a creative workshop environment, helping students develop practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for design.

You will bring:

- Appropriate teaching qualifications with a specialisation in Design & Technology.
- Registration (or eligibility) with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia (TRB).
- Experience teaching Middle School Design and Technology (ability to teach Digital Technology advantageous).
- Proficiency in industry-standard tools and technologies used in design and fabrication.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety in a workshop environment.
