Neighborhood's Centre Receptionist

Location: Kallangur, Redcliffe & Lawnton Position: Fixed Term Contract until 30 June 2028

Award & Payrate: SCHADS Award Level 2.1, $36.22 per hour

Hours: Part Time, 30 Hours per week 8.45AM to 3.15PM

Every day, our Neighbourhood Centres assist individuals and families to access practical support, information, referrals and opportunities to thrive. We're seeking a compassionate and resilient Receptionist to join our Neighbourhood Centres team working across Kallangur, Redcliffe and Lawnton.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys customer service and administration while making a genuine difference in the lives of people experiencing challenges and hardship.

About the role

As the first point of contact for our community members, you will provide professional reception and administrative support across our Neighbourhood Centres. You will welcome visitors, respond to enquiries, maintain records, support centre activities, and help connect people with the services they need. No two days are the same. You will regularly engage with people experiencing financial hardship, housing stress, social isolation, domestic and family violence, mental health challenges, substance misuse issues, and other complex circumstances. There will be occasions where community members present in a heightened, distressed or confrontational state due to the significant personal challenges they are facing.





The successful applicant will be emotionally intelligent, resilient and robust, with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. They will consistently uphold Encircle's values of Compassion, Respect, Trust and Integrity, while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and supporting people with dignity, empathy and respect.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide professional front-of-house reception services.
- Respond to enquiries in person, by phone and electronically.
- Assist community members to access services, supports and resources.
- Maintain accurate records, databases and administrative systems.
- Support community programs, meetings and events.
- Assist with volunteer administration and record keeping.
- Maintain welcoming, secure and professional centre environments.
- Work collaboratively with Encircle support teams.

About You

You will bring:
- Experience in reception, administration, customer service or community services.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence managing competing priorities in a busy environment.
- A calm, professional and empathetic approach when supporting people experiencing crisis,



distress or disadvantage.
- The resilience and confidence to manage challenging and occasionally confrontational interactions.
- The ability to maintain professional boundaries and not take difficult interactions personally.
- A commitment to inclusion, social justice and respectful practice.
- Sound Microsoft Office and database skills.

Essential Requirements

- Current Queensland Driver Licence and own transport
- Current Blue Card.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
