About the opportunity

Home in Place is seeking to appoint two Non-Executive Directors to contribute to the future capability, governance and strategic direction of the Parent Board of the Home in Place Group.

This is an active and engaged Board appointment, suited to candidates who understand the distinction between executive leadership and governance,



and who can contribute at a strategic level while supporting the organisation’s continued growth and impact.

The Board is particularly interested in candidates who can bring contemporary experience across one or more of the following areas:

- Property development, construction, infrastructure and/or capital management
- Government relations, policy and stakeholder influence
- Technology, cyber security, AI and digital governance
- Commercial, investment, and/or public-private partnership experience
- Geographic diversity, particularly across broader national markets

Community housing or not-for-profit experience is valued but is not essential. Home in Place is open to candidates from broader sectors including property, technology, infrastructure, government, commercial and other complex operating environments.

About you

You will bring sound judgement, integrity and the ability to contribute constructively within a Board environment. You may be an experienced Non-Executive Director, a Committee or Board Chair, or a senior executive with the capability and maturity to transition effectively into a governance role.

You will be able to demonstrate:

- Strong strategic and commercial judgement
- An understanding of governance, risk, compliance and Board-level decision-making
- The ability to analyse complex information and contribute to robust discussion
- Robust stakeholder engagement and influencing skills




- A collaborative, respectful and values-led approach
- Sufficient time and capacity to contribute meaningfully to an active Board
- Commitment to Home in Place’s purpose and long-term impact

Tertiary qualifications are expected, and completion of the Australian Institute of Company Director’s Company Directors Course or equivalent governance training will be highly regarded. Home in Place is seeking to strengthen Board diversity across skills, sector experience, geography, gender, age, cultural background and perspective. Candidates based outside Newcastle are encouraged to apply, noting some travel will be required.
