Nurse Unit Manager – Acute
Location: Rural Victoria
Hours: Permanent Full-Time
Salary: $71.92ph + Super + $15,900 Salary Packaging
Start Date: ASAP
This role is ideal for an experienced Acute ANUM or senior nursing leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care, and making a genuine impact within a regional community.
The Role
Oversee a busy Acute Services Unit within a well-regarded regional health service. You will provide operational, clinical, and strategic leadership across the ward, ensuring secure, high-quality patient care while supporting and developing a skilled multidisciplinary team, working alongside a highly supportive executive leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational and clinical leadership across the Acute unit
- Oversee daily ward operations, patient flow, and bed management
- Lead workforce planning, rostering, and staff performance management
- Support, mentor, and develop nursing staff and emerging leaders
- Drive quality improvement and service development initiatives
- Foster a positive team culture focused on staff engagement and retention
- Manage budgets, resources, and departmental performance indicators
- Ensure high standards of patient-centred care are consistently delivered
Requirements
- AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
- Leadership experience as an ANUM, NUM, or equivalent
- Strong acute nursing background
- Demonstrated experience managing teams, workforce planning, and clinical operations
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in Leadership, Management, Acute Care, or related field
- Experience working in regional or rural healthcare settings
