About the Role
As Office Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the practice while providing leadership across administration, policy management and business support. You will identify opportunities to improve systems, strengthen processes and contribute to the firm's continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of a busy legal practice from the Melbourne office and supporting the Brisbane office.
- Manage, mentor and develop the administration and reception team.
- Develop and improve office systems, and workflows to maximise efficiency.
- Ensure the smooth operation of legal support services and administrative functions.
- Coordinate facilities management, support technology, suppliers and office resources.
- Assist with financial administration as required
- Responsible for the compliance with legal industry requirements, creating and updating firm policies and regulatory obligations, including O,H&S; compliance and training
- Work closely with the General Manager to implement operational initiatives and strategic projects.
- Support and work with the management team to implement projects
- Coordinate office maintenance and safety
- Promote a collaborative, professional and client-focused workplace culture.
About You To be successful in this role, you will bring extensive experience managing the operations of a legal practice together with strong leadership skills and a genuine passion for continuous improvement. We are seeking an accomplished Office Manager with a minimum of five years' experience managing the operations of a legal practice. This role is a 12-month maternity leave role with potential ongoing opportunities due to the growth of the firm. This is a key leadership position for a confident professional who understands the unique demands of a legal environment and enjoys building effective systems, supporting high-performing teams and driving operational excellence.
Working closely with the General Manager and management team, you will oversee the firm's day-to-day operations,
lead the administrative team and help deliver an exceptional experience for both clients and staff.
You will have
- At least five years' experience as an Office Manager within a legal practice.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing administrative and legal support teams.
- A thorough understanding of legal office operations, workflows and client service standards.
- Experience implementing and improving administrative systems and business processes.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with the confidence to work closely with senior stakeholders.
- High levels of professionalism, integrity and discretion.
- Proficiency with legal practice management software and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with legal compliance requirements will be highly regarded.
