OOSH Coordinator (Permanent Part time)
Lead an OOSH service delivering high-quality before and after school care where children feel safe, valued, supported and inspired every day.
About the Role
Nabiac Kids Shack is a community-based, not-for-profit Outside School Hours Care (OOSH) service located in Nabiac, NSW. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced OOSH Coordinator to lead our small, welcoming service.
This permanent part-time leadership role offers the opportunity to manage the day-to-day operations of the service while working directly with children and families. The position includes flexible administration hours, allowing you to effectively manage operational responsibilities while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Hours of Work
- Permanent Part-Time – 30 hours per week
- 25 hours working directly with children
- 5 hours dedicated to administration and Educational Leader responsibilities
- Core contact hours are 7.00am–9.00am and 2.30pm–5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
- Administration hours can be worked flexibly by agreement.
- During Vacation Care, you may be required to work up to 38 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the OOSH service.
- Lead the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate educational and recreational programs.
- Ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework, Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, and service policies.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, the school and the wider community.
- Support and mentor a small team of educators to maintain a positive and collaborative culture.
- Manage enrolments, administration, record keeping and reporting requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Management Committee to support continuous improvement and service growth.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and child-focused environment where every child can thrive.
About You
You will be a confident and organised leader who is passionate about providing high-quality care for school-aged children.
You will have
- A Diploma qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care, School Age Education and Care, or a related field.
- At least two years' experience in a leadership or coordinator role within an OOSH or education and care setting.
- A sound understanding of the National Quality Framework, National Regulations and My Time, Our Place.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- A current Working with Children Check.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
