Astec Equipment Services is a respected Ballarat-based business that has been supporting people living with disability, older Australians, hospitals, aged care providers and community organisations for more than 30 years. We supply, service and repair assistive technology, mobility equipment, patient lifting systems, vehicle modifications and other specialised equipment that improves people's independence and quality of life.

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our business and support our continued growth.

Experience in the Healthcare Industry is preferred but not essential. Our team has a broad range of experiences and qualifications from different industries. A relocation allowance would be considered for the right applicant.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the business across compliance, administrational, financial and operational systems. You’ll also be a key support to each staff member with the ability to jump into each role and assist during busy periods.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll work closely with all departments to improve processes, support staff and ensure the business operates efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include

- Leading and improving day-to-day business operations.




- Managing operational processes and driving continuous improvement.
- Overseeing payroll, accounts payable, debtor management and financial administration.
- Producing management reports and monitoring business performance.
- Coordinating annual stocktakes and inventory management.
- Managing business systems including SmartBiz Online and MYOB.
- Coordinating Work Health & Safety compliance activities.
- Supporting compliance with NDIS Practice Standards.
- Managing insurance renewals and claims.
- Reviewing supplier, contractor and service agreements.
- Managing hire pool assets and special customer orders.
- Supporting the General Manager with operational projects and business initiatives.

About You You are an experienced leader who enjoys improving systems, solving problems and helping teams succeed.

You'll ideally bring

- Proven experience in an Operations Manager or similar leadership role.
- Strong financial administration and reporting skills.
- Experience supervising administration and operational teams.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in MYOB or similar accounting systems.




- Knowledge of Work Health & Safety requirements.
- Experience within the NDIS, healthcare, aged care, disability or a service-based industry will be highly regarded but is not essential.
