The Opportunity

Day & Night Healthcare are a national distributor of medical consumables and continence products to a wide range of markets such as Aged Care, Hospital, Community and Primary Care. We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee branch operations across our 6 warehouses Australia wide.

Position Purpose The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing the company's operational activities across all state branches to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations. The role provides strategic leadership to branch managers and operational teams, ensuring consistent service delivery, effective workforce management, inventory control, fleet oversight, and continuous operational improvement.

The Operations Manager is accountable for developing high-performing teams, driving operational efficiencies, maintaining compliance with all workplace health and safety requirements, and ensuring operational budgets and performance targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Branch Management

- Lead and support all state branch operations to achieve company objectives.

- Provide leadership, coaching and performance management for Branch Managers, Supervisors and operational staff.

- Ensure consistency in operational standards, processes and customer service across all locations.

- Develop and implement operational strategies that improve productivity, profitability and service delivery.

- Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.

- Conduct regular branch reviews and operational audits.

- Support Branch Managers in achieving operational and financial objectives.





- Drive accountability across all operational teams.

People Leadership

- Lead recruitment, onboarding & performance management for operational teams.

- Manage employee relations matters in conjunction with Human Resources.

- Develop staff capability through coaching, mentoring and training initiatives.

- Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performance culture.

- Ensure workforce planning aligns with operational requirements.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

- Oversee inventory accuracy and stock integrity across all warehouse locations.

- Ensure warehouse operations are effective, organised and compliant.

- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise warehouse productivity.

- Monitor inventory performance and investigate stock variances.

- Develop systems that improve stock control and warehouse efficiencies.

Fleet & Logistics

- Provide leadership and direction to the Fleet Manager.

- Ensure company fleet operations support business requirements efficiently and cost-effectively.

- Monitor fleet performance, utilisation and compliance.

- Support strategic planning for fleet replacement, maintenance and asset management.

- Manage relationships with freight carriers and logistics providers.

- Review freight performance,



costs and service levels. Negotiate improved freight solutions where appropriate.

- Ensure freight operations support customer expectations and business objectives.

Financial Management

- Monitor labour costs and wage budgets across all branches.

- Identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining service standards.

- Review operational expenditure and recommend efficiency improvements.

- Ensure resources are utilised effectively to maximise profitability.

Workplace Health & Safety

- Champion a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.

- Ensure compliance with all Workplace Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures.

- Oversee incident investigations and corrective actions.

- Conduct regular safety reviews and audits across all branches.

- Ensure operational risks are identified and effectively managed.

Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, productivity and quality.

- Lead operational improvement projects across branches and warehouses.

- Implement best practice processes and standard operating procedures.

- Drive innovation through technology, automation and process improvements.
