About the Role

As Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership of Council, ensuring our services, contracts, people and systems perform at the highest level.

You'll provide strategic leadership across a broad portfolio while leading and mentoring a capable executive team.

You'll also provide oversight of operational teams, contract managers and our external service delivery partners,



ensuring everyone is working together to achieve Council's strategic objectives.

This is a highly influential role requiring strong commercial judgement, outstanding leadership capability and the ability to balance operational excellence with community expectations.

What You'll be Doing

You'll lead the organisation by:

- Driving operational excellence across all Council services.
- Leading high-performing teams and building a culture of accountability.
- Managing significant service contracts and strategic delivery partners.
- Strengthening systems, governance and organisational performance.
- Delivering operational plans, strategic initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Overseeing budgets, financial performance and resource allocation.
- Leading risk management, compliance and workplace health and safety.
- Building trusted relationships with community, government and key stakeholders.
- Providing high-level strategic advice directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

About You You're an experienced executive leader who enjoys improving organisations and empowering people.

You bring

- Significant senior leadership experience within local government or another complex service delivery environment.
- A proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary operations.
- Strong commercial, financial and operational management capability.
- Extensive experience managing contractors, partnerships and service delivery performance.




- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- A team-oriented leadership style that develops people while driving accountability.
- Experience leading organisational improvement and transformational change.
- Sound judgement, resilience and the confidence to make difficult decisions when required.
