Profectus is inviting expressions of interest from IT Application Developers for likely upcoming engagements within the Australian Government. These opportunities suit developers early in their career who can write, test and maintain software components under guidance, applying sound coding standards while building their skills within an established delivery team.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, code, verify, test, document, amend and refactor simple programs and scripts, following defined procedures
- Apply agreed development standards and tools, performing debugging and fixing straightforward defects
- Conduct basic testing, record results and rerun tests after fixes
- Assist with deployments by following runbooks and resolving simple issues where possible
- Review own work to identify and correct errors, escalating issues that cannot be resolved independently
- Work collaboratively within the delivery team, building capability across the software development lifecycle

Required Experience

- Understanding of software development standards, version control and basic testing practices




- A willingness to follow defined procedures and work under guidance
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
- Australian Government experience will be well regarded
- Exposure to integration or API development
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Relevant tertiary qualification or developer certifications

Security Clearance Requirements

- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Must hold a Baseline security clearance (minimum)

Working Arrangements

- Hybrid; predominantly onsite with periodic work from home where appropriate
- Canberra preferred
- Candidates based in VIC, NSW, SA or QLD may also be considered
