About the role

Chatswood Vet Clinic is seeking a Part Time Receptionist to join our friendly and professional team. This is a part-time position based in Chatswood, NSW 2067.

As Part Time

Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets, playing a vital role in creating a welcoming and efficient experience for everyone who walks through our doors. This position is essential to the smooth running of our clinic and directly contributes to client satisfaction and retention.

Key responsibilities

- Greeting clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a warm and skilled welcome
- Managing telephone enquiries, appointment bookings and cancellations with accuracy and courtesy
- Processing client payments and handling cash and card transactions securely
- Maintaining accurate client and patient records using our clinic management system
- Scheduling veterinary appointments and managing the appointment diary to optimise clinic efficiency
- Assisting with client queries regarding services, treatments and aftercare instructions
- Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming reception area
- Supporting the veterinary team with administrative tasks as required
- Communicating effectively between clients and veterinary staff to ensure seamless service delivery

What we're looking for

- Previous reception or customer service experience, preferably in a veterinary or healthcare setting a bonus not essential - on the job training provided.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Proficiency with computer systems and RX Works practice management software knowledge a bonus not essential - on job training provided.
- Genuine passion for animals and animal welfare




- Reliable and punctual with a versatile approach to part-time hours initially 1-6pm Mon to Wed, 4-6pm Thur / Fri and every 2nd Sat. 8-1pm.
- Ability to work as part of a team whilst also managing tasks independently
- A qualified and friendly demeanour that puts clients at ease
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle client concerns with empathy and resolution
