UGL is seeking a motivated **Undergraduate Electrical Engineer** currently studying at the **University of Queensland (3rd or 4th year)** to join our team supporting electrical maintenance across UQ sites. UGL is the lead electrical contractor delivering **preventative and corrective maintenance**, along with **minor project works**, across the University’s diverse electrical infrastructure portfolio. **About the Role** This role provides a unique opportunity to gain **hands-on experience in a live operational environment**, supporting both engineering and maintenance activities across a large and complex campus. Working closely with the Program Manager, engineers, supervisors and electricians, you will assist with engineering, technical coordination and project delivery activities, while developing practical industry skills aligned to your studies. **Key Responsibilities** * Assist with **engineering solutions, scoping and estimating** LV and MV maintenance and project work * Support **technical documentation**, including drawings, reports, calculations and work packs * Conduct **site inspections**, data collection and condition assessments * Liaise with **UGL estimators, supervisors,



electricians and UQ stakeholders** * Assist with **procurement and supplier engagement activities** * Provide technical support to maintenance teams to ensure **safe, compliant delivery outcomes** * Contribute to **continuous improvement initiatives and digital systems (e.g. SAP-FSM)** * Assist with coordination and delivery of **small projects under supervision** **Exposure & Experience** You will gain exposure to a broad range of electrical systems and assets, including: * LV and MV electrical infrastructure, switchboards and transformers * Generators, UPS systems and solar (PV) assets * Emergency lighting, RCD testing and campus-wide electrical services * Testing, inspection, maintenance and project delivery practices **About You** * Currently completing a **Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (3rd or 4th year)** at UQ * Strong interest in **electrical infrastructure, maintenance or project delivery** * Proficient in **Microsoft Office**, with solid organisational skills * Exposure to **CAD, estimating or maintenance systems** (desirable, not essential) * Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders * Proactive, detail-oriented and eager to learn in a **hands-on environment** * Demonstrates a strong commitment to **safety, teamwork and continuous improvement** **Why Join UGL?** * Adaptable work to complement your university schedule * Practical, real-world engineering experience on an active maintenance contract * Exposure to diverse electrical systems and project work * Mentorship from experienced industry professionals **Job Reference**: 268077 Discipline: Engineer - Electrical Primary Location: Australia-QLD-Brisbane - Western Suburbs & Ipswich Work Type: Casual | | |
