What are hydraulic services?
Hydraulic services manage water, waste and gas in buildings. They include potable water, sanitary drainage, stormwater, roof drainage, trade waste, rainwater reuse and natural gas.
What the hydraulics team does
We design safe, efficient water and waste systems. We plan supply, drainage and reuse, coordinate with structure and services, and document designs contractors can build and maintain.

Responsibilities
- Design potable and non‑potable water supply, sanitary and trade waste drainage
- Contribute to stormwater, roof drainage and recycled water systems
- Coordinate with the other building disciplines including architecture, structural and building services
- Prepare drawings, schematics, schedules and calculations
- Visit sites to observe installation and work with contractors
- Support client meetings and present clear options

About our graduate program
Our two‑year program builds your consulting and technical skills. You will work with clients, learn how projects move from sketch to site, and grow your confidence as a trusted adviser. You will join social and networking events, rotate across disciplines and get hands‑on experience that sets you up for a strong career.
Qualifications
- Near completion of, or recently completed, a mechanical, civil, or building services engineering degree
- Transparent written and verbal communication
- Curious mindset with problem‑solving skills
- Available to start in 2027
- Full Australian working rights for the duration of the program
Nice‑to‑haves
- Exposure to hydraulic design or drafting tools
- Familiarity with Australian Standards and the NCC
- Interest in water efficiency, reuse and sustainability ratings
- Internship, site, or construction experience
