Overview A part‑time permanent clerical position in the Palliative Care Unit at St George’s Kew campus. The role involves 30 hours per fortnight, Monday to Thursday, on a set roster.
Responsibilities - Provide clerical support and facilitate patient management for the palliative care unit.
- Admit patients, create accurate patient records and complete all necessary information in line with current procedures.
- Perform reception duties, deliver exceptional customer service, and handle patient and family enquiries via telephone and in person in an efficient, professional and caring manner.
- Ensure patient confidentiality is always preserved.
- Arrange appointments for patients as requested by clinical staff.
Qualifications - Previous administration experience in a health setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and of private health fund billing and public health funding.
- Experience with Patient Administration Systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willingness to obtain one.
