About the role The Philanthropy Relationship Coordinator plays a key role in building and strengthening philanthropic relationships that support better healthcare outcomes across Eastern Health.

Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Foundation team, you will help identify, cultivate and steward a diverse portfolio of supporters, including trusts and foundations, private ancillary funds, major donors and gifts in wills prospects. You will contribute to meaningful donor engagement, funding proposals, stewardship activities, impact reporting and relationship management.

This role provides valuable exposure across various fundraising programs, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop a well-rounded career in philanthropy.

About you

You are a relationship-focused professional who enjoys connecting people with meaningful opportunities to make a difference.

You may already be working in fundraising, philanthropy, community engagement, stakeholder management, business development,



partnerships or a related field and are looking to broaden your experience across multiple areas of fundraising.

You bring solid communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a genuine desire to build authentic relationships that inspire long-term support and impact.

You will possess

Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a postgraduate degree, with at least three years’ experience in business development, fundraising or a related field

Demonstrated experience in fundraising, business development, stakeholder engagement, relationship management, grant writing or donor relationship roles

Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage a diverse range of audiences such as senior leaders, donors, trustees and grant managers

Exemplary interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to build and sustain meaningful relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Strong organisational and portfolio management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, reporting requirements and relationship opportunities

Emotional intelligence, self‑awareness and a collaborative approach to working within a team

Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively to meet objectives A current driver’s license is preferred

Desirable

CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) or equivalent qualification

Experience in healthcare philanthropy and contributing to a culture of philanthropy

Qualification in fundraising

Membership of the Fundraising Institute of Australia

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up-to-date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up-to-date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
