Leslie Electrical Services (LES) is an industrial electrical contracting business specialising in factories, processing plants and food production. We do machine design, PLC programming, SCADA, functional safety and TÜV machine safety certification, the pointy end of the trade.

We're after a first-year apprentice who wants to learn it properly, from the ground up. This isn't a domestic power points and lights apprenticeship. You'll be exposed to industrial control systems, safety circuits and automation alongside tradespeople who take training seriously. We run a family-first culture, take safety and your wellbeing genuinely, and invest in our people. If you're switched on, reliable and keen to build a real career, we'll back you.

Heads-up: from time to time we take on work across Australia, which means living away from home, sometimes for stretches of up to 3 months. If that's a dealbreaker, this probably isn't the right role. If it sounds like an adventure, even better.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting our electricians on industrial sites: cable running, terminations, containment, fault-finding and panel work

- Learning to read electrical drawings, schematics and control diagrams

- Helping build and wire control panels in the workshop

- Getting hands-on exposure to PLCs, drives, sensors and machine safety systems

- Keeping tools,



vehicles and worksites tidy, stocked and safe

- Attending TAFE and completing all coursework on time

What you'll need

- A completed pre-apprenticeship in electrotechnology (Certificate II)

- A current driver's licence

- A Construction Induction ("White") Card

- Completion of Year 12 (or equivalent), with solid maths and English

- Willingness to travel and live away from home for project work, up to 3 months at a time

- Reliability, a good attitude, respect for safety, and a genuine interest in electrical work and automation

- Bonus points for any hands-on, mechanical or trade experience, and an interest in PLCs, automation and machine safety
