Salary: $60,000 – $65,000 per annum

The Navy's Anchorage Café is more than just a place to eat - it's a space where quality service, teamwork, and professionalism come together. We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Venue Supervisor to lead our café operations at BAE Systems, Osborne and support our team in delivering exceptional food, coffee, and customer service every day.

About the Role

As the Venue Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the café, ensuring high standards of food quality, customer service, and operational excellence are maintained. You will lead by example, support and develop your team, and ensure the café operates efficiently while meeting both customer expectations and business requirements.

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position with an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise daily café operations.

- Provide hands-on leadership and support to the team.

- Oversee opening and closing procedures.

- Monitor food production, stock levels, wastage, and catering requirements.

- Complete stock ordering, inventory management, and stocktakes.

- Manage daily cash handling, reconciliations, reporting, and banking.

- Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.

- Conduct monthly food safety and compliance audits.

- Deliver exceptional customer service while balancing customer expectations with business requirements.

- Respond to customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally.

- Train, mentor, and develop team members.

- Assist with recruitment activities,



including interviews, rostering, and timesheet management where required.

- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with customers and escalate matters to management when necessary.

- Support catering services and special events as required.

- Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional workplace culture.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Australian Citizenship (essential).

- Availability to work full-time.

- A minimum of 1 year of supervisory or management experience in hospitality.

- A minimum of 1 year of café or fast-food experience.

- At least 2 years of barista experience, including:

- Coffee grinder calibration.

- Basic coffee machine troubleshooting.

- Producing consistently high-quality coffee.

- A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.

- A current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence.

- Sound knowledge of HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and WHS requirements.

- Experience training and developing team members.

- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

- The ability to quickly learn and confidently use POS and back-of-house systems.

- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced environment.

- A strong understanding of balancing customer expectations with operational and business requirements.
