We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Behaviour Change Facilitator to join our Connect and Respect Men’s Behaviour Change Program.

In this role you will be part of a passionate and dedicated team delivering a specifically designed program to men who choose to use violence and abuse in their relationships with their partner(s) or family members. The program is delivered in a secure and supportive therapeutic setting and provides educational group work, informal counselling, individual case management and advocacy.

Responsibilities

- Facilitation of group work for men who choose to use violence in intimate relationships and provide support to work towards positive change
- Contributing to risk assessments, safety planning, case management, case note and report writing
- Conducting specialised intake assessments of potential clients
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Respond to crisis and emotional distress of clients

This is a permanent full-time position working 76 hours a fortnight. This role is located in Geraldton, and will work within the prison setting. Due to the nature of the position and industry, there is a requirement to work outside normal business hours.

About You

You are passionate about keeping women and children safe from family domestic violence, coupled with a desire to help men change their behaviours by being educated on FDV. Additional to this, you will have:

- Tertiary qualification in a human services field, and/or significant experience in a similar field
- Ability to respond to challenging behaviours and have an understanding of the origins of these behaviours when working with clients




- Cultural competency to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, culturally and linguistically diverse populations, and people with disabilities
- Advanced communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Unrestricted driver's licence, Police clearance, Working With Children Check, and Department of Justice integrity clearance
