As a Probation Services Officer, you’ll play a vital role in encouraging pro-social behaviours, promoting rehabilitation, and contributing to safer communities across Queensland.

Community Corrections supervises adult offenders across Queensland, aiming to reduce reoffending and improve public safety. Operating from offices in seven regions, including metropolitan, rural, and remote areas, the teams support individuals in fulfilling community-based orders and making positive life changes.

As a Probation Services Officer, you'll play a vital role in encouraging pro-social behaviours, promoting rehabilitation, and contributing to safer communities across Queensland.

To Succeed In This Role, You'll Demonstrate

- Effective task management, meeting deadlines while working independently and in a team
- Proven experience engaging diverse internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery
- Robust awareness of sensitive issues, with a commitment to privacy and legislative compliance
- Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to conduct difficult conversations, resolve issues, and negotiate positive outcomes

Additional Information

- Formal qualifications aren't mandatory, but tertiary qualifications in human services disciplines are highly regarded
- Successful applicants must complete the Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Community) — activities/assessments within 12 months, full certification within 18 months
- A current C class driver's licence is required
- Training relevant to operational demands (e.g. urinalysis testing, court-related duties) may be required, as identified by the relevant delegate
