About ACLE
ACLE is an Australian EPC contractor delivering large-scale renewable energy infrastructure, including utility-scale solar, battery energy storage systems and associated electrical infrastructure. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer who is interested in developing a career in technical procurement. This chance may particularly suit a Project Engineer who enjoys working across engineering, suppliers, commercial requirements and project delivery and is looking to transition into procurement.
About the Role
The Procurement Engineer will support the sourcing and procurement of major electrical equipment and materials for ACLE’s projects. You will be the key interface between the Procurement team and the Engineering Design team, coordinating technical evaluations, supplier enquiries, documentation, procurement schedules and engineering inputs.
The role will initially operate within established procedures and under the direction of the Procurement and Operations Manager. As your technical knowledge, commercial understanding and confidence develop, you will be given greater responsibility and autonomy.
You will be expected to manage routine procurement and engineering coordination matters independently, while recognising when commercial, technical, programme or supplier risks need to be escalated to the Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering and Technical Coordination
· Act as the primary procurement interface with ACLE’s Engineering Design team · Be comfortable with technical evaluations of supplier submissions, equipment specifications, drawings and supporting documentation
· Ensure engineering reviews and approvals are completed in line with procurement and project schedules
· Follow up outstanding technical information, design inputs, supplier enquiries and internal actions
· Coordinate meetings, emails and technical clarification processes between suppliers,
Procurement and Engineering
Supplier Engagement and Procurement Support
· Support the identification, evaluation and prequalification of suppliers for major electrical equipment and materials · Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation and support the evaluation of supplier responses
· Assist with technical-commercial bid evaluations and supplier recommendations
· Support the preparation and administration of purchase orders and supply agreements
Delivery, Records and Stakeholder Management
· Track procurement activities and delivery commitments · Maintain accurate procurement records, technical documentation and supplier information
· Identify potential technical, commercial, quality or programme issues and escalate critical matters to the Procurement Manager
· Work with Project, Engineering, Commercial and Finance teams to resolve procurement-related matters
About You
To be considered for this position, you will need: · A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
· Approximately three to five years’ experience in an electrical engineering role
· Experience within utility-scale renewable energy, major infrastructure or construction
· Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately review technical information and documentation
· The judgement to recognise when an issue can be resolved through standard processes and when it needs to be escalated
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· The ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders,
priorities and deadlines
· A structured and methodical approach to following procedures and maintaining records
· Competency using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Highly Regarded
· Experience within utility-scale solar, BESS, substations or other major electrical infrastructure projects · Experience as a Project Engineer with an interest in moving into procurement
· Exposure to equipment such as batteries, inverters, transformers, switchgear, cables, trackers or other major electrical packages
· Experience coordinating technical submissions, supplier documentation or engineering reviews
· Mandarin language capability very helpful
Experience limited to residential or rooftop solar will not generally provide the scale or complexity required for this position.

· Is commercially curious and interested in developing broader procurement and supplier-management capability
