About the Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will lead a large production team of up to 120 permanent and casual employees, ensuring the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of production plans. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for developing team capability, driving operational excellence, and creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Please note: This position is a permanent afternoon shift leadership role. To ensure a successful transition into the business and a strong understanding of our people, processes and operations, the successful candidate will initially commence on day shift for an extended training and onboarding period before transitioning to the afternoon shift. Some rotation of shifts may be required at times.

How You Will Contribute

- Lead all production activities during your shift to achieve output, safety, quality and cost targets
- Plan and manage labour and skills requirements to meet production demands and new project requirements
- Develop and coach frontline leaders and operators to improve capability and performance
- Drive a strong safety culture through visible leadership, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives




- Champion food safety, GMP standards and "First Time Right" quality outcomes
- Coordinate daily production activities and collaborate with other Shift Managers to optimise site performance
- Lead industrial relations matters and workforce engagement across the shift
- Partner with Engineering to ensure effective breakdown management and maintenance coordination
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, change projects and new product introductions

About You

- Proven leadership experience within a food manufacturing, FMCG or high-volume production setting.
- Strong people leadership skills with experience managing large and diverse teams.
- Demonstrated success driving safety, quality and operational performance outcomes.
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
- Sound problem-solving and analytical capability.
- Experience managing labour utilisation, cost control and production KPIs.
- A continuous improvement mindset and ability to lead change effectively.
- Knowledge of GMP, food safety and quality systems will be highly regarded
