About AACHWA The Aboriginal Art Centre Hub of Western Australia (AACHWA) advocates on behalf of its member art centres located in regional and remote Western Australia. AACHWA delivers professional development programs for managers, boards, and artists; provides recruitment advice and services; and acts as an advocate to, and central point of contact for, Regional, State and Federal funding bodies. About the role

Working within the core programs team, the Project Delivery Coordinator (Our Future and Core Events) works in accordance with the vision, goals and policies of the AACHWA Board to support the delivery of AACHWA’s core programs.

The Project Delivery Coordinator (Our Future and Core Events) operates under the direction of the AACHWA Programs Manager and Project Coordinator (Revealed and Our Business) to lead on the delivery of the Our Future Aboriginal Arts Worker Training program and support the delivery of AACHWA’s core annual events: Revealed: New & Emerging WA Aboriginal Artists and the Our Business Aboriginal Art Centre Forum.

The Our Future: Aboriginal Arts Worker Training Program is delivered in partnership with TAFE and provides accredited practical training and real-world experience to Aboriginal arts workers in regional and remote Western Australia.

Revealed is WA’s biggest celebration of Aboriginal art, comprising an expansive exhibition, art market as well as professional and creative development programs for artists and art centre staff.

The Our Business: Aboriginal Art Centre Forumis a week long professional development gathering designed to support WA Aboriginal art centres by providing training in effective business management, promoting regional partnerships, and offering networking and market access opportunities.

This is a key role in the planning, delivery, evaluation, and promotion of AACHWA’s training and workforce development program/s (Our Future) and will provide essential support to the successful delivery of AACHWA’s core professional development,



exhibition, and public facing events (Revealed & Our Business).

*This is initially a part-time role of 30-hours/week, with the possibility of becoming a full-time role in the future.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Event Planning and Delivery: lead on the planning and delivery of Our Future and assist with that for Revealed and the Our Business Forum;
- Logistics & Operations: lead on venue, travel, accommodation, ground transport and catering logistics as well as audio-visual production, site inspections, staffing rosters and detailed running sheets for Our Future and assist with these for Revealed and Our Business;
- Program Development: assist with the development of program content for each event, as required
- Budgeting & Financials: lead on the development and maintenance of Our Future project budgets, ensuring all expenditure complies with internal procurement policies;
- Stakeholder Liaison: work closely with art centres, artists, presenters & facilitators, program and event partners and venues, Aboriginal Corporations, traditional owners and elders, community groups, local authorities and funding partners, as required;
- Communications: support AACHWA’s communications team by providing marketing copy and accurate information as required and assisting with the design of application, registration, and ticketing systems;
- Funding & Reporting: research and identify possible grants, draft question responses and provide up to date reports, data and stats to senior staff;
- Evaluation: contribute to evaluation methods and processes;
- Risk Management: assist with the development of risk assessments, safety, security and contingency plans;
- Health and Safety:



Understand and adhere to occupational health, safety, and environment policies; to ensure working in a manner that keeps you and others safe.

Essential Criteria:

- 3–5 years’ experience working in the planning, delivery and evaluation of projects, ideally within a visual arts or training/workforce development context.
- Demonstrated experience in administration and logistics planning.
- Demonstrated experience working as part of a team.
- Availability and willingness to travel.
- Availability and willingness to work outside of usual business hours, including evenings and weekends, when required, for work purposes.
- Demonstrated experience working with consultants, facilitators, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and/or communities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, relationships, and communication skills.
- Ability to resolve conflicts as they arise, analyse problems and provide practical solutions.

Desirable Criteria:

- Aboriginality will be highly regarded but is not essential in this role.
- Qualifications in Arts, Projects, Training or Events Management
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts and the wider visual arts sector.
- A current ‘C’ Class Driver’s License

Other Requirements:

- Must be an Australian Citizen / Permanent Resident.
- Hold Valid Australian work rights.
- National Police Clearance
