The Opportunity
Immediate start. Regional VIC role.
JPMC is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of a significant building project. Working closely with the Project Manager and site leadership team, you will take ownership of assigned construction packages and help drive safe, timely and commercially sound project outcomes.
This is a hands-on delivery role requiring strong coordination skills, sound technical judgement and the confidence to lead engineers, supervisors and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage designated work packages from planning through to completion.
- Coordinate site activities with supervisors, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
- Review drawings, specifications, construction methodologies and technical documentation.
- Identify and resolve engineering, constructability and interface issues.
- Track progress against the construction program and address potential delays.
- Monitor labour, materials, costs and productivity across your assigned packages.
- Ensure works meet the project’s quality standards, technical requirements and contractual obligations.
- Maintain accurate site records, project documentation and progress reporting.
- Support forecasting, cost control and the achievement of commercial targets.
- Provide direction and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Actively promote a safety-first culture across all project activities.
About You
Experience in Defence projects is highly desirable. To succeed in this position, you will ideally bring:
- A recognised tertiary qualification in Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of construction project delivery experience.
- Demonstrated experience delivering building projects such as residential developments, commercial facilities, hospitals, educational buildings, student accommodation or workforce accommodation.
- Exposure to several building disciplines, potentially including structural works, piling, precast concrete, façades, roofing, internal fit-out and commissioning.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain momentum in a rapid-paced site environment.
- Strong written communication, reporting and stakeholder-management skills.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to establish productive relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
- Previous experience leading and mentoring engineers, allocating responsibilities and establishing clear delivery expectations.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of cost, program, quality and productivity drivers.
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents and be eligible to obtain and retain an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.
