Project Engineer, Renewables Energy | Grid-Link | Hazelwood
Grid-Link is a niche engineering consultancy delivering end-to-end solutions to connect energy assets into the grid. We're looking for a Project Engineer to help us deliver complex renewable energy and power infrastructure projects across BESS, solar farms, substations and grid connection assets.
About the opportunity
You'll blend project engineering, technical coordination and stakeholder management to keep projects moving safely and to a high standard. Where a client project calls for full-time site presence, you may also step into an In office Representative (OSR) / Field Engineer role focused on contractor oversight and quality surveillance, backed by Grid-Link SMEs. The first OSR posting is on site at Hazelwood, VIC. The broader role can be based in Melbourne or Brisbane, with occasional travel.
What you'll be doing
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of renewable energy projects
- Review engineering designs, technical reports and documentation
- Coordinate between clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams
- Assist with technical due diligence, risk assessments and design reviews
- Support construction, commissioning and energisation activities
- Provide site quality control and contractor oversight when acting as OSR
What you'll bring
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in project engineering or engineering consulting
- Understanding of utility-scale renewables, BESS, solar farms and HV substation infrastructure
- Familiarity with transmission, grid connection, and protection, control and SCADA systems
- Understanding of Australian electricity network standards and regulations
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Valued:
- Engineers Australia membership and CPEng, or working towards it
- Project management qualifications
- Hands-on experience on utility-scale renewable projects
- Understanding of AEMO and network service provider requirements
