Fresh By Design is a leading Aquaculture and Aquarium/Zoo Specialist providing Project Management, System Design and Installation and Equipment supply. We have companies established in Australia and New Zealand focussed on Commercial and Research Aquaculture (RAS) and Aquarium and Zoo Life Support Systems (LSS). Over the past five years we have delivered more than 50 projects across Australia and New Zealand.

The Role

This is an additional position created alongside our existing project management team to help deliver a robust pipeline of upcoming projects.

This Project Manager position offers a great opportunity to join a specialised, Australian owned company in a growing industry. It offers the opportunity to be involved with a wide variety of aquaculture and aquarium/zoo projects, throughout Australia and New Zealand. Within the role you will work closely with the Sales, Purchasing, Logistics and Warehouse teams.

- NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Gaden Trout Hatchery, Snowy Mountains NSW - Trout Hatchery RAS design and construct
- Zoo Marine Precinct, New Zealand - Life Support Systems LSS
- Government Research Facility, Tasmania - Research Aquarium and RAS Systems
- Public Aquarium, Queensland - Quarantine Systems
- Marine Animal Hospital, Queensland - Life Support Systems LSS
- University Research Aquariums, Western Australia - Saltwater and Freshwater Systems
- Commercial Aquaponic System, NSW - RAS Systems
- Live Lobster Holding Facility, New Zealand - RAS Systems
- Prawn Hatchery Consultancy Report, New Caledonia

Position details:
- This is a remote position working from a home office. All locations within Australia and New Zealand will be considered.



Working in our head office in Moss Vale is also available and relocation assistance will be provided.
- Full time, permanent position
- Attractive Base Salary + Performance Bonuses
- Travel will be required both interstate and internationally and all costs will be covered by the company

Position responsibilities:
- Manage RAS/LSS projects from initial enquiry to commissioning
- Work with clients to provide concept and detailed system design, equipment specifications and quote proposals
- Supervise subcontractors and participate in system construction including hands on installation, commissioning and ongoing servicing.
- Provide technical consultancy and site reports
- Manage and report on project budgets
- Provide system technical support to clients

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in the Aquaculture/Zoo/Aquarium Industry with a specific emphasis on project management and system design
- Experience in operation and construction of RAS/LSS and similar systems
- Strong understanding of water filtration principles including RAS/LSS, Aeration, Mechanical and Biological Filtration, Feeding, Oxygen and Ozone, UV, Pumps and Water Quality Monitoring
- Highly organised and can multi-task during periods of high workload
- Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving with the ability to determine solutions for customers including troubleshooting services on-site and by phone
- Strong computer literacy
- CAD Drawing and 3D Modelling abilities or experience working closely with contract drawers
- Must be a team-oriented person, have a strong work ethic, be keen to learn and have fun at the same time
- Must have a current driver's licence, Passport and ability to travel both interstate and internationally
- Must have the right to work in Australia or New Zealand
