Manager – Underground Utilities Division (Western Power) We are looking for a Project Manager to work on our various Western Power Civil & Electrical Projects within our Underground Utilities Division. If you’re a results-driven leader with a proven track record in construction or utility infrastructure, this is your chance to deliver meaningful impact while aligning with a company that places Safety, Integrity, Innovation, Mateship and Collaboration at the heart of everything we do. This position is based in our Welshpool Depot, working Monday to Friday.
This is a leadership-focused position requiring a solid commitment to safety, stakeholder engagement, and project performance.
Key Responsibilities - Review, prepare and formalise project tenders in conjunction with commercial & estimating teams.
- Manage the life cycle of civil & electrical infrastructure projects.
- Lead a team of engineers and supervisors, guiding them to achieve project goals.
- Foster strong client relations, ensuring satisfaction across the project lifecycle.
- Develop detailed project plans, covering scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation.
- Manage project budgets efficiently, implementing cost-effective measures.
- Uphold high-quality project delivery, surpassing industry standards.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges and keeping senior management across project issues, delays or other liabilities.
Essential
Skills & Qualifications - Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in the civil engineering and construction industry with demonstrated experience in project management.
- Western Power project experience is highly regarded.
- Qualification in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in managing subcontractors & liaising with clients.
- Effective team management and leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise, delegate, schedule, and plan.
- Capability to operate autonomously, demonstrating initiative, while also thriving in a collaborative team setting.
- Proficiency in handling high-pressure situations while upholding a meticulous attention to detail.
