Our services include alternative high school education, crisis accommodation and housing support, alcohol and other drugs counselling, youth justice programs, life skills and employment pathways, cultural support and community engagement. Our properties and fleet are essential to delivering safe, welcoming and effective services for young people. From crisis accommodation to classrooms to outreach hubs, every site relies on well‑maintained facilities, compliant environments and reliable vehicle assets. The Property & Fleet Manager plays a critical role in ensuring these environments operate smoothly, safely and efficiently.
Reporting to the General Manager, Infrastructure & Operations, the Property & Fleet Manager oversees YOTS’ owned and leased property portfolio, manages our vehicle fleet, and leads a small team responsible for facilities and administration. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across lease management, capital works, facilities management, contractor governance, compliance, and fleet operations. This role is hands‑on, fast‑paced and central to organisational operations.
You’ll work closely with program managers, the WHS team and external contractors to ensure our sites meet regulatory requirements and support safe environments for staff, young people and visitors. You will also lead capital and major maintenance projects across the organisation. This position is based at our Head Office in Alexandria, with regular travel to YOTS sites.
What you'll do
Manage lease administration, ensuring landlord and tenant obligations are met
Maintain accurate records of leased and owned properties, including key dates, responsibilities and compliance requirements
Project manage tenant fit‑outs, de‑fits, capital works and major maintenance projects across all sites
Provide facilities leadership to program managers and ensure property requirements are met
Oversee contractor procurement, contract management and quality assurance
Ensure compliance with WHS, Fire Safety, BCA, DDA and other regulatory requirements
Conduct regular site inspections and oversee the triage of property job requests
Manage key systems including security, CCTV, emergency protocols, DLP and warranty periods
Oversee the outsourced fleet management provider and manage YOTS’ vehicle fleet
Develop annual operating and capital expenditure budgets and track progress throughout the year
Lead and support Facilities Officers and the Property & Fleet Administration Assistant
Support recruitment, capability development and people management activities
Manage insurance claims and ensure adherence to procurement and delegation policies
Perform other duties appropriate to the classification as required What you'll bring
8+ years’ experience in property and facilities management
Extensive experience in property or facilities management, including contractor procurement and management
Demonstrated project management capability, including refurbishment and major works
Understanding of construction, building services, WHS requirements and property regulations
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Conflict resolution capability and a proactive approach to managing risk
Experience leading people and managing internal and external stakeholders
Desirable
Lease administration experience
Commercial property development experience
WHS knowledge and risk management capability
