What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan, prepare, and serve healthy, balanced meals and snacks for the children attending our service.
- Ensure all food preparation and storage meet health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with the educators and families to accommodate dietary requirements, allergies, and preferences.
- Monitor stock levels and manage supplier relationships to maintain pantry supplies.
What We’re Looking For
- Relevant qualifications and experience as a cook, particularly with children’s meal preparation, is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills to work efficiently in a busy environment.
- A collaborative team player who communicates effectively with staff and families.
- A genuine passion for providing children with high-quality, nourishing meals.
What you’ll need:
- Food Handling Certificate and Food Supervisor Certificate (desirable but not essential as we will organise this training course for you)
- Previous experience as a Childcare Cook (not essential as we will provide you with the relevant training required)
- Certificate III in Cookery (desirable but not essential)
- Current& ValidWorking with Children Check
- First Aid and CPR certificates including Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
- Experience in Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
- Experience in dietary and allergy secure requirements.
- Certificate III or Diplomain Children's Services would also be highly regarded
