About Role:
The Victorian Institute of Technology (VIT) is seeking a Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager to join its Educational Quality Assurance and Compliance function. This position plays a critical role in upholding and enhancing the institution’s academic and regulatory standards, ensuring alignment with the Higher Education Standards Framework, the Education Services for Overseas Students Act (ESOS Act), the National Code 2018, the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (HESA), and the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 (RTO Standards).
Location: Sydney / Melbourne / Adelaide / Geelong
Type of Employment: Full Time - on going
Remuneration: $110,000 – $180,000 per year
Role and Responsibilities The Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager will:
- Implement, monitor, and review VIT’s compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external reviews, audits, and evaluations.
- Provide expert advice and support to governance committees on compliance and quality assurance.
- Prepare and oversee accurate and timely reporting to regulatory bodies.
- Lead benchmarking and external referencing initiatives to inform continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of quality assurance and compliance across the institution.
- Support the COO in strategic compliance planning.
Key Selection Criteria
- Extensive experience and knowledge in managing compliance with HESF, ESOS Act, National Code, HESA, and RTO Standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in internal audits, reviews, and quality assurance systems within the education sector.
- Proven experience with government and regulatory reporting systems such as PRISMS, TCSI, FEE-HELP, and SVTS.
- Robust leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and foster continuous improvement.
- Highly developed I.T. and data analysis skills, with the ability to produce accurate compliance and governance reports.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to meet reporting deadlines and organisational objectives.
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualification(s) (AQF level 9 or 10) and relevant experience in the Australian private higher education sector.
