About the Role
Hewitt is seeking a Quality & Compliance Coordinator to support the governance, improvement and consistency of quality, food safety, supplier assurance, export compliance and market access systems across our operations and supply partners. Based within the central Food Safety & Quality function in Brisbane, this role will help maintain strong compliance oversight, accurate reporting, quality system alignment and continuous improvement across the business. You will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, manufacturing partners and stakeholders to support audit readiness, controlled documentation, supplier compliance, export eligibility and quality performance.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys structure, detail, stakeholder engagement and contributing to quality outcomes in a regulated food workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Support enterprise QA and food safety system implementation, governance and continuous improvement across Hewitt Foods operations.
- Assist with regulatory, certification, customer, export and internal compliance requirements, including audit preparation and verification activities.
- Maintain controlled quality documentation, including policies, standards, SOPs, specifications, records and acknowledgement tracking.
- Support supplier approval, onboarding, reapproval, compliance monitoring and corrective action follow-up.
- Maintain export eligibility systems and documentation, monitoring importing country, MICoR, customer, certification, organic and Halal requirements.
About You
You are a proactive and detail-oriented quality professional who brings strong technical capability, sound judgement and a collaborative approach. You understand the importance of accurate documentation, audit readiness, risk-based quality management and effective stakeholder communication in a regulated food environment. Comfortable working with systems, data and compliance records, you can identify trends,
follow through on actions and support teams to maintain consistent quality standards.
Experience in food manufacturing, processing, FMCG or another regulated food industry environment will be highly regarded.
You Will Bring
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety legislation, quality management systems, audits, CAPAs, root cause analysis and risk-based quality approaches.
- Experience with supplier approval programs, export documentation, customer technical compliance and international market access requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality or document management systems, with exposure to digital QA systems, reporting tools or Power BI highly regarded.
- A proactive, solutions-focused, methodical and accountable approach, with a commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Assurance or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
