About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (Pricing) to provide commercial and pricing expertise across a major telecommunications infrastructure program delivering critical communications capability throughout New South Wales.

Rather than traditional post-contract quantity surveying, this role has a strong focus on pricing assurance, infrastructure benchmarking and validating construction costs before works commence. Working closely with commercial teams, project managers, engineers and delivery partners, you will assess supplier submissions, develop pricing benchmarks and ensure proposed construction costs represent value for money.

This position plays an important role in supporting commercial decision-making across complex infrastructure projects by providing independent cost validation and lifecycle cost analysis for a wide range of telecommunications assets and construction methodologies.

Position: Quantity Surveyor (Pricing) – up to $1000/day + super TBC depending on experience

Location: Sydney CBD

Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 12 Months with strong potential for extension

Key Responsibilities

- Develop robust pricing models to support telecommunications infrastructure projects.
- Review supplier quotations and validate construction costs against current market conditions.
- Assess infrastructure pricing across civil, structural, electrical and telecommunications components.




- Develop and maintain pricing benchmarks and cost libraries to support future project delivery.
- Establish and maintain project price books for common infrastructure assets.
- Evaluate buildability considerations including structural types, foundation requirements, solar infrastructure and equipment installation costs.
- Analyse lifecycle costs associated with telecommunications infrastructure assets.
- Review Requests for Information (RFIs), change requests and commercial variations.
- Provide commercial advice to support procurement and project delivery decisions.
- Work closely with commercial teams to ensure supplier pricing aligns with approved benchmarks.
- Validate vendor submissions and identify pricing inconsistencies or commercial risks.
- Support budget planning, forecasting and cost assurance activities.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to improve delivery efficiency and cost outcomes.
- Monitor industry pricing trends, supply chain impacts and material cost fluctuations.
- Prepare commercial reports, pricing recommendations and executive briefings.
- Contribute to value engineering initiatives that improve project outcomes without compromising quality.
- Assist with tender evaluations and supplier assessments.
- Develop solid working relationships with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with government procurement frameworks and commercial governance requirements.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across commercial and pricing processes.

About YouYou are a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who enjoys analysing complex infrastructure pricing and providing practical commercial advice that supports major project delivery. You have strong analytical skills, excellent commercial judgement and enjoy working collaboratively with technical and commercial stakeholders. To be successful you will demonstrate:

- Demonstrated experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager, Cost Engineer or Contracts Professional within major telecom, energy or infrastructure environments.
- Strong experience preparing, reviewing and validating construction and material pricing.
- Extensive knowledge of infrastructure construction methodologies and associated material costs.
- Experience developing cost estimates, pricing models or benchmarking frameworks.
- Ability to critically review supplier quotations and identify pricing anomalies.
- Strong understanding of lifecycle costing and value-for-money assessment principles.




- Experience working on telecommunications, utilities, energy, transport or other major infrastructure projects.
- Telecommunications infrastructure experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret contracts and commercial documentation.
- Experience supporting procurement, tender evaluation and contract administration activities.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation support and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience preparing commercial reports.
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Commerce or a related discipline.
- Membership of AIQS, RICS or another recognised professional body will be highly regarded.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high attention to detail.
