Trailworx Australia is a specialist trail design and construction business delivering distinctive outdoor recreation, mountain bike, walking trail and natural area projects across regional and remote locations. With continued growth across South East Queensland, Northern New South Wales and Victoria, the business is expanding its project leadership capability to support a strong pipeline of government, council and National Parks work.

As Regional Project & Design Manager, you will take ownership of a defined territory across southern Queensland and northern New South Wales, leading the successful setup, delivery and close-out of trail construction projects while working closely with clients, internal project teams, Team Leaders, Trail Builders, estimators and the broader Trailworx team.

The opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager, this role sits at the centre of project delivery, client relationships and operational coordination. You will be involved from tender and RFQ stages through to mobilisation, delivery, reporting, invoicing and practical completion.

What you will be doing

- Attend site briefings and inspections to understand project requirements and delivery constraints.
- Contribute to tender and RFQ submissions, including methodology, programming and practical delivery input.
- Set up projects, coordinate mobilisation and hand over clear plans to Team Leaders and site crews.
- Monitor project scope, costs, variations, progress claims, reporting and invoicing requirements.
- Coordinate materials, equipment, subcontractors, travel and accommodation to support project delivery.

- Maintain strong communication with clients, internal teams and project stakeholders.
- Support secure, efficient and high-quality outcomes across regional and remote project sites.

A key feature of the role is acting as the bridge between clients and the teams delivering work on the ground. You will translate client expectations into practical delivery plans, provide constructive input on design and constructability, and ensure project teams have the information, resources and direction they need to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes.

Working environment

- Flexible base: Mix of work from home, site visits (approximately 1-2 days per week on key projects), and optional access to the North Lakes office.
- Company vehicle: Includes a fully maintained 4WD dual-cab utility with full private use.
- Responsibility-based culture: Outcomes, communication and reliability matter more than sitting at a desk.

About you The ideal candidate will bring project management experience from a related construction, civil, landscaping, outdoor recreation, natural areas, parks, trails or infrastructure environment.

You will also bring

- Practical project management skills across cost, scope, variation and delivery control.
- Experience working with government,

council, parks, infrastructure or similarly structured clients.
- Confidence contributing to tender methodology, programming and constructability discussions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead teams respectfully.
- A safety-focused, organised and responsive approach to project delivery.
- Attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Why consider this role? If you are an experienced site supervisor, civil project manager or landscape infrastructure lead looking to step away from repetitive suburban builds, this role offers a refreshing change. You will oversee iconic, legacy-leaving eco-tourism assets, from multi-day Great Walks to national park mountain bike networks, with genuine work-from-home flexibility, full site autonomy and a business that values its people.
