We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse to join our clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working in primary healthcare and is passionate about providing exceptional patient care.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse, you will work closely with our General Practitioner to provide high-quality nursing care while supporting the efficient operation of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and triage.
- Record and monitor patient observations and vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, blood glucose, height and weight.
- Administer immunisations in accordance with current clinical guidelines and ensure accurate documentation, including reporting to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
- Provide wound care, dressings and ongoing wound management.
- Assist General Practitioners during consultations, procedures and minor surgical treatments.
- Coordinate and assist with Health Assessments and Care Plans.
- Support medication reviews and medication management within your scope of practice.
- Perform clinical procedures, including:
- ECGs
- Spirometry
- Audiometry
- Urinalysis
- Maintain accurate, confidential and timely clinical documentation.
- Review and escalate abnormal pathology results in accordance with practice protocols and under the direction of the General Practitioner.
- Maintain infection prevention and control standards, including cleaning and preparation of treatment rooms and clinical equipment.
- Monitor, maintain and order clinical stock, vaccines and medical supplies.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement and accreditation activities where required.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Current CPR certification.
- Demonstrated clinical assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient-centred care and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Sound computer skills and the ability to accurately maintain electronic medical records.
Desirable
- Previous experience working in General Practice or Primary Health Care.
- Immunisation Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience completing Care Plans, Health Assessments
- Experience using Medical Director, or similar clinical software.
