About the Position: As a Motor Mechanic at Prime Crash and Auto Repairs Unit Trust, you will play a vital role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a range of vehicles to the highest standards. This full time position involves hands-on technical work in our busy Cheltenham workshop, ensuring vehicles are returned to optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
Your expertise will contribute directly to our commitment to delivering dependable service and supporting the local community with trusted automotive care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components.
- Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other parts for inspection and repair.
- Repairing or replacing worn and defective parts, then reassembling mechanical components in line with service manuals.
- Performing scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups, to ensure smooth operation and regulatory compliance.
- Testing and adjusting repaired components for proper performance using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Maintaining accurate records of work performed and advising on additional repairs where required.
Requirements:
- Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
- Certificate III and Certificate IV in Automotive (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic.
- Strong technical skills in engine diagnostics, repairs, and use of modern diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
