Maroomba Airlines is a proudly Western Australian airline operating a fleet of De Havilland Dash 8 aircraft across charter, FIFO and regional operations throughout Australia. We are continuing to grow and strengthen our Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO), including our transition to CASA Part 42 operations. We are now seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Reliability & Airworthiness Engineer to join our Airworthiness team based at Perth Airport.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity suited to an aviation professional who is passionate about safety, compliance, aircraft reliability and continuous improvement. A competitive salary package will be offered based on skills and experience.
About the Role
Reporting to the Part 42 Responsible Manager, the Reliability & Airworthiness Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the continued airworthiness and operational reliability of Maroomba's Dash 8 fleet. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Maintenance Planning, Flight Operations and external maintenance providers to ensure regulatory compliance and fleet performance objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage aircraft reliability programs and monitor fleet performance.
- Produce monthly reliability reports and facilitate reliability review meetings.
- Conduct Airworthiness Reviews and support the issue of Airworthiness Review Certificates where authorised.
- Develop and maintain the Reliability Manual and Airworthiness Review Program.
- Monitor aircraft defects, reliability trends and Service Difficulty Reports (SDRs).
- Ensure technical publications and maintenance data libraries remain current and controlled.
- Support Maintenance Data Assessments (MDAs) and regulatory compliance activities.
- Maintain accurate airworthiness records and documentation.
- Assist with the development and review of CAMO policies, procedures and manuals.
- Conduct airworthiness risk assessments and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with engineering, maintenance organisations, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and regulatory authorities as required.
About You To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Essential
- Aircraft maintenance engineering qualifications or relevant aviation engineering background.
- Sound knowledge of CASA regulatory requirements, with experience in one or more of Part 42, Part 145 and Part121 highly regarded.
- Experience in Continuing Airworthiness Management (CAMO) activities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret reliability data and identify trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
- Current ASIC card or ability to obtain one.
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a CASA Part 42, Part 145 or Part 121 environment.
- Previous Airworthiness review experience.
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance and planning systems.
- Experience with Aircraft Cloud, Aerotrac, Tracware or similar aviation management systems.
- Dash 8 fleet experience.
- Experience preparing reliability reports and presenting findings to stakeholders.
