This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified tradesperson who is passionate about diagnosing, repairing and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles. The successful applicant will work on a variety of heavy and light diesel vehicles, ensuring all repairs and servicing are completed to the highest industry standards.

Task & responsibilities Inspect diesel engines and associated mechanical systems in heavy and light vehicles to identify faults and determine appropriate repair requirements. Diagnose mechanical and engine-related issues using advanced electronic diagnostic equipment and interpret test results accurately. Remove, dismantle and examine diesel engines, transmissions, steering systems, suspension assemblies,
braking components and other mechanical parts for repair or replacement.
Repair or replace worn, damaged or defective components using appropriate repair techniques, including welding, bolting, riveting and other approved methods where required. Reassemble engine components and reinstall repaired engines and mechanical assemblies, ensuring all systems operate efficiently and safely. Service, adjust and repair fuel injection systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, ignition components and other electrical and mechanical systems.
Test and fine-tune engines and mechanical systems following repairs to verify performance, reliability and compliance with manufacturer specifications. Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, battery inspections and scheduled vehicle maintenance. Maintain accurate service records and complete repair documentation in accordance with company procedures.
Ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety requirements, environmental standards and manufacturer guidelines. Maintain workshop tools, equipment and work areas in a clean, organised and safe condition.
Collaborate effectively with workshop supervisors and fellow technicians to achieve efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
Qualification & experience 1-3 years of relevant experience as a Diesel Mechanic is essential. A completed relevant qualification in Automotive Diesel Mechanical Technology or an equivalent trade qualification is required. Sound knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, suspension, steering and braking systems.
Experience using electronic diagnostic equipment and modern workshop tools. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Good communication and organisational skills. Commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
Registration or licensing may be required where applicable.
