About the business The business (ABN 91 213 951 452) is a takeaway food outlet located in a busy shopping centre food court in Palmerston, serving a range of freshly prepared takeaway meals, including loaded chips, fish and chips, fried chicken, seafood baskets, hotdogs, ice cream and milkshakes.

The successful applicant will oversee the outlet's front-of-house retail operations and support its smooth daily operation.

About the Role The Retail Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the activities of staff, maintain high customer service standards and assist management with staff supervision, stock control, cash handling and the day-to-day operation of the outlet.

The position requires availability across a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays and evening shifts where required.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of counter and staff.
- Allocate duties and prepare or assist with staff rosters.
- Ensure customers receive prompt,



friendly and accurate service.
- Train staff in customer service, point-of-sale procedures, food handling and workplace requirements.
- Monitor staff performance and provide day-to-day guidance and support.
- Respond to customer enquiries, concerns and complaints.
- Operate and supervise point-of-sale and cash-handling procedures.
- Complete opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with stocktaking and ordering.
- Receive and check deliveries against orders.
- Ensure menu items, promotional materials and prices are correctly displayed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the service counter, customer areas and retail displays.
- Ensure food safety, workplace health and safety, security and hygiene procedures are followed.
- Report staffing, stock, equipment and operational issues to management.
- Assist with counter service and other operational duties during busy periods.

Skills and Experience
- At least one year of relevant experience in retail, takeaway food, fast food or a similar customer-service environment;
- Previous experience supervising or coordinating staff;
- Experience with point-of-sale systems, cash handling and daily reconciliations;
- Good customer service and complaint-handling skills;
- The ability to organise staff and prioritise duties during busy service periods;
- Knowledge of stock control and basic inventory procedures;
- Positive communication and interpersonal skills;
- A reliable, organised and hands-on approach to work; and
- The ability to work weekends, public holidays and shifts according to the business roster.
- A current food-safety or food-handling certificate is desirable.
