About the Role
This role presents a fantastic opportunity for career growth and development for a Rollingstock Technician in our East Tamar Workshop. The workshop has been updated significantly, and you can grow and develop your skills working with heavy vehicles and machinery. You will be given a strong supportive environment that will help you succeed. We will supply your uniform; you will work a 4 day a week weekday daytime roster giving the opportunity for increased life balance.
The primary function of this position is the prompt and effective maintenance and repair of large mobile equipment and machinery. We are looking for people with mechanical trade experience/background and demonstrated interest in working on large diesel engines in a heavy industrial environment.
You may be working fly in fly out roles and looking to get more time with your family or working in another industry applying your trade skills and wanting a change of scenery. Whatever the case this could be the opportunity for you.
Key responsibilities/Accountabilities
Trade qualified understanding of the nature of rolling stock maintenance:
- Work with due care and consideration to safeguard own health and safety, health and safety of others and work in compliance with the Safety Management System;
- Diagnose and remedy faults on train equipment;
- Undertake preventative maintenance and/or repairs to train equipment;
- Modify existing train equipment;
- Operate and maintain workshop equipment;
- Operate computer equipment and input data;
- Perform routine administrative duties; and
- Undertake duties away from workshop as required
