Hero Calling | Management Accountant | (Temp to Perm)

Calling all heroes (immediately available accountants), we are recruiting on behalf of a well‑established ASX‑listed engineering and construction business seeking a technically robust Management Accountant to join their growing finance team.

This is a hands‑on opportunity for someone who enjoys working across financial reporting, project accounting and business partnering within a fast‑paced operational environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role supporting the finance function across multiple operating entities. This is a broad, hands‑on position with exposure to month‑end reporting, project accounting, budgeting, forecasting and continuous process improvement within a growing project‑based business.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Complete month‑end processes including journals,



accruals and prepayments.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and weekly cash flow reporting.
- Support project accounting, WIP reporting and cost analysis.
- Assist with BAS preparation and external audit requirements.
- Work closely with operational stakeholders to improve financial performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.

Short but Sweet

- CPA or CA qualification (qualified only)
- Experience in Financial Accounting or Management Accounting
- Strong month‑end reporting and balance sheet reconciliation experience
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- BAS and GST experience
- Experience within engineering, construction, mining services, manufacturing or another project‑based environment highly regarded
- Strong Excel skills and exposure to large ERP systems
