Our client is a fast-growing boutique Chartered firm redefining what modern accounting looks like. We're seeking a Senior Accountant / Assistant Manager who thrives on client impact, leadership, and innovation including leveraging AI and emerging technologies to drive smarter, more scalable outcomes.
This is more than a compliance role it's an opportunity to step into true advisory leadership and play a key role in the firm's growth and evolution. This role is work from home but must reside in Sydney.
The Opportunity
You'll partner directly with the Director and Managers, lead a portfolio of high-value clients, and drive both strategic tax advisory and innovation initiatives across the firm.
What You'll Be Doing
? High-Value Client Advisory
- Act as the trusted advisor to SMEs, private clients, and family groups
- Assist with delivering strategic tax planning across CGT, Division 7A, structuring & succession
- Identify tax-saving and business improvement opportunities
- Use data insights and AI tools to elevate client advice and decision-making
? Technical Leadership
- Prepare complex tax returns (Companies, Trusts, Individuals, SMSFs) and review of tax returns
- Provide expert guidance across Australian tax law
- Ensure ATO compliance while improving delivery efficiency through automation & AI
? Team Leadership
- Lead,
mentor and develop a high-performing team
- Drive accountability, quality, and continuous improvement
- Champion adoption of AI tools and modern systems to increase team productivity
? Growth & Innovation
- Improve systems, workflows, and operational efficiency
- Work closely with our offshore Philippines team
- Play a key role in integrating AI into our service offering
- Help scale advisory services and deepen client relationships
About You
CA qualified
- 5+ years in public practice (Australian tax essential)
- Experienced in advising private clients & business owners
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Commercial mindset with a passion for advisory
- Tech-savvy and forward-thinking experience with automation tools or a robust interest in AI in accounting
