We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team in the Frankston and surrounding areas.
About the Role
As an NDIS Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to participants in their homes and the community. You will assist participants to achieve their NDIS goals while promoting independence, dignity and choice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and daily living support.
- Assist participants with community access and social activities.
- Support participants with domestic assistance and meal preparation.
- Assist with transport to appointments and community activities.
- Promote participant independence, choice and inclusion.
- Maintain accurate progress notes and incident reporting.
- Follow individual support plans and NDIS Practice Standards.
- Work collaboratively with participants, families and allied health professionals.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum one (1) year experience working in disability support,
aged care or community services.
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability, Ageing or Home & Community) or higher qualification.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee).
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011 or equivalent) and CPR certification.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence and reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle.
- Evidence of the right to work in Australia.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible availability, including weekdays, evenings and weekends if required.
Desirable
- Experience supporting participants with psychosocial disability, autism, intellectual disability or complex support needs.
- Experience using electronic care management systems such as ShiftCare.
- Medication Administration competency.
- Manual Handling training.
- NDIS High Intensity Support Skills (advantageous).
