Job Description

An elderly gentleman in Cooranbong is looking for a friendly volunteer to share a chat and some companionship.

A former carpenter, he enjoys bowls, gardening, listening to music, and reminiscing about life experiences . A regular social visit and a friendly conversation would help brighten his week.

If you enjoy connecting with older people and can spare an hour, your friendship could make a meaningful difference.

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.

- National Volunteer Police Check arranged
- Reference check
- Volunteer Training
