What’s the role? Join us in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, on a permanent hybrid basis and help power the technology that sits at the heart of Australia’s oldest bank. Our core banking platform supports millions of customer transactions every day, and we’re looking for a Senior Mainframe Engineer who wants to make a genuine impact while helping shape the future of engineering.

You’ll work across critical mainframe systems and modern technology platforms, using AI enabled tools to accelerate delivery and solve complex problems. This is more than a hands on engineering role. You’ll help build capability within a growing Gold Coast engineering hub, mentor fellow engineers and contribute to the evolution of a more connected, full spectrum engineering workforce.

What do I need?

- Robust experience with COBOL and/or PLI, supported by knowledge of JCL, CICS, IMS and batch processing
- Proven experience supporting and enhancing applications on z/OS platforms
- Confidence using AI tools and coding assistants as part of everyday software engineering
- Strong troubleshooting skills, including production support, debugging and performance analysis
- Interest in working across modern technologies including Java, APIs and event driven services
